347H Stainless Steel Pipe is the higher carbon (0.04 – 0.10) version of the alloy. With the addition of molybdenum, the steel is popular for use in severe corrosion environments due to the materials immunity from boundary carbide precipitation (sensitisation). The material is widely used in heavy gauge welded components and weld annealing is only required where the material is for use in high stress environments. 316L has an extensive variety of uses especially in marine applications due to the materials high corrosion resistance.d for higher strength at temperatures above 1000°F (537°C). In most instances, the carbon content of the pipe enables dual certification. 347H Stainless Steel Pipe is stabilized stainless steel plate which offers as its main advantage an excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800 to 1500°F (427 to 816°C). Alloy 347 stainless steel plate is stabilized by the addition of columbium and tantalum.

The steel has excellent forming and welding qualities and excellent toughness even at cryogenic temperatures.
